Pushing Boundaries: Flexible AI at the Edge
AI is impacting everybody and nowhere is that more apparent than in the tech industry. We interact with chatbots, create content, and search for and analyse data using AI. Whereas most of this happens in the cloud today, Convolutional Neural Networks are already in the edge with smart cameras and other intelligent sensors. Will we see the same progression with Large Language Models such as ChatGPT? With security, low latency, low power and low cost all being critical factors, a different approach to large scale GPU deployment is needed at the Edge, for the Embedded World.
Join Sandra Rivera, CEO of Altera, to learn how FPGAs and are used to implement AI at the Edge today and how this will unlock the future. Infusing hardware programmability with Tensor blocks provides efficient implementation in the silicon, but this is only part of the solution needed to accelerate innovators. How does the model get from the AI framework to an efficient implementation on programmable hardware? How do AI solutions migrate away from the data center and meet the latency and power envelopes needed at the Edge? How do long lifecycles and the need to update Edge deployed solutions impact AI inference solutions? During this keynote, Sandra will show how the AI functionality is generated and optimised automatically from popular AI frameworks, and then integrated and deployed with other hardware and software for a broad portfolio of Edge applications ranging from high performance to the low-end.
