In the workshop "Computer-on-Modules – from selection to carrier board design" from WEKA Fachmedien, participants will learn the basics of hardware development with computer-on-modules. First, how individual standards differ from each other and how to select the appropriate standard for one’s next embedded project. In addition, all design basics will be explained, and help offered in planning first steps. Also, questions about the right documentation are clarified, where to obtain support and how to start a schematic design.
A device also requires various interfaces; these will be introduced and then help given to choose the right interfaces. Thermal and mechanical concepts complete the course content. The presenter will address individual questions and help with specific troubleshooting as required. At the end of the workshop, attendees will receive a confirmation of participation. In addition, the WEKA Graduate Program offers the possibility of a certificate. Simply complete a short comprehension test and if further seminars are attended the certificate can be extended. Questions? Please contact us – we are looking forward to your registration and to seeing you in Munich.
The seminar is aimed at developers of embedded hardware as well as decision makers for industrial computer technology.

Discussion
Which options for developing an embedded device exist?
Which criteria are used to select the right platform?
If a decision is made to implement a computer-on-module, how can the necessary documentation be obtained?
How can a carrier board be developed based on the documentation?
Which points should be considered when designing a carrier board?
